Bone in Pork Roast

Looking to cook about a 4.5 bone-in pork roast on the egg Today. Any suggestions on cooking temp and time? Our first thought is to marinate the roast in a garlic, olive oil and rosmary base, then cook the roast at 225 degrees for 20 minutes a pound.

  • Pancho,
You should try your marinate it sounds good. I would advise you to cook the Roast at 325 to 350 if you are going for 20 min per pound. [p]Elder Ward

  • Pancho,
Last week I did a pork loin roast about that size. Here's what I did:[p]Rolled the mother in Dizzy Pig regular grind rub and wrapped in plastic wrap for about 2 hours. I then cooked it on the egg at 230 degrees for 30 minutes, using about 3 large chunks of apple wood for smoke. I then raised the heat to 350 for 1 hour and then finished it off at 500 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. I did it to 130-135 internal temperature as I recall, and next time I'll do it to about 140. It was juicy, tender, and full of flavor.[p]TNW
