What oil for Amish Friendship Bread -- ?

What kind of oil are you using for your Amish Friendship Bread.

I used Safflour Oil -- and the "bread" was fantabulous. If you use Olive Oil, are you getting an OO taste?

Corn oil is so unhealthful...

Suggestions, comments...?

I used regular vegetable oil. It worked great. I've never used olive oil for any baking unless a recipe specifically calls for it.

We have just used what ever was in the cupboard. Mazola & Crisco so far.

Not sure if it really matters or I don't know any better.

Yep -- the cooking sites speak of Mazola for baking. Still a monounsaturated -- not quite as close to plastic as some.

I have always used Canola Oil.

If you are really concerned use Apple Sauce instead. Many things around here get baked with Apple Sauce and they are usually really good.
