I just picked up these 6 huge claws that weighted in at 2+ pounds. Note the relative size of the quarter. Gonna be some mighty fine dining here tomorrow night!

Very nice! The only bad experience I have had with those super jumbo claws is that the claw tips sometimes do not get completely cooked.

What time should I be there?

Stone crabs is one of my favorites. Always had them steamed or boiled. Are you going to grill them? Since I haven't grilled them in the past . I'd give one a test run. They're Too good and expensive to screw up.

of course they are actually cooked before leaving the boat, so I just steam them for 5 minutes to warm throughout. You're right those 6 claws cost me $33 so I don't intend to mess them up. Only time I've ever screwed up any was getting too zealous with the hammer and smashing the shell into tiny pieces embedded in the meat!
