Cooking naan bread in the BGE

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Hi,[p][A newbie question ...][p]I read the archived posts about cooking naan in the BGE, and I was wondering if anyone has tried putting the dough on the pizza stone, inverting the stone and holding it up with the three "shoes" that ship with the BGE. (They're throw-aways if you have the nest, as we do.)[p]Anybody tried this? Does it work?[p]Regards,[p]-BW[p]Bruce Wahler

  • Bruce Wahler,[p]I haven't tried that, but that brings to mind another possibility, putting the plate setter in the egg with legs up so you could put a pizza stone on that to keep it up in the air....[p]TNW

    Bruce Wahler,
I cooked some excellent naan one time directly on the grate, be sure to oil it first, and be sure the fire is very hot, as it would be in a tandoori oven. It cooks in about 30 seconds per side using this method. If you have Steven Raichlen's cookbook "BBQ Bible", his naan recipe is very easy and very good and very authentic, and cooks up so easily on the egg.
