Egg Covers

With Christmas getting near, Santa needs ideas. Do most BGE'ers cover their eggs when not in use? Or, do they ever cool down long enough to cover? Maybe the more perplexing question is ---
"would the money expended on a cover be better utilized for beer?"

  • Mike S., I live in the sometimes wet Pacific Northwest and find that a cover helps to keep the Egg cleaner and also less damp inside. I know that many folks don't have a cover and the Egg does just fine but I think for a really wet climate it is a wise purchase. On the other hand, if you only have money for one or the other....buy the beer.

    Mike S.,
I've had a cover from day 1. I got the table and it's almost 4 years later and I don't regret getting it. The lower vent is only a tiny bit rusty and the bands are as good as the day I brought Mr. Egg home. I feel that spending the $$ I did I should make it last as long as I can. My vote? Get it.

    Mike S.,
I use a BGE cover. I feel it helps keep out moisture, thus mildew. I also wrap a bunggie cord around the base of the cover since I lost it in the wind one evening.
