I have been wanting to do Muzzy's Brisket Chili, but have not yet. I have done another one of his chili recipes, and it was the best chili I've made.[p]Link below. You could even stop by SongDog's forum, over there, and say hi. Muzzy might even poke his head in and cough up some more of his secrets![p]Beers to you!

RebelCause,[p]I just won a cook-off last weekend....the only consecutive winner of this one..and used this recipe. I have won several Midwestern cook-offs with this one. Not a traditional Texas style chili and it probably wouldn't do good down there, but it has been very successful for me over the years. You may snicker at using ground beef and Tomato soup, but a winner is a winner in my book![p]This year I skipped the pinto beans.....no reason, just wanted something slightly different.[p]The recipe, as written, is VERY hot..it is for competition only, my family will not eat it as written. If you like a milder version, just follow the directions at the bottom. Also, there are 3 differnt levels of cayenne you can purchase..this one uses the 160,000 SVU brand.[p]I also make my own chili powder, but any high quality powder should work.[p]Enjoy!![p]Stogie
____________________________________________________________[p]Kevi's Award Winning Chili [p]1 pound Ground beef
1 medium Onion(s), chopped
2 cans Tomato soup
1 soup ater
1 can Tomato(s), crushed
1 tablespoon Cumin powder
2 teaspoons Red pepper, crushed
5 tablespoons Chili powder
1 can Pinto beans
1 tablespoon Pepper
1 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Cayenne pepper[p]PREPARATION:
You MUST use Campbell's Tomato soup for this recipe!! The red pepper I use is the same as they use at the pizza joints.
Brown beef, onion, cumin and red pepper flakes.
Add soup, water, tomatoes and 2 tablespoons of chili powder, salt and pepper and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add beans, remaining chili powder and cayenne pepper and simmer another 30 minutes.
This recipe is pretty hot as it is. To lighten up the heat, eliminate the red peppers when browning the meat and then cut the cayenne in half. You can always add more cayenne at the end OR if you have guests or family that like it hotter, they can add some just prior to serving.

You're the best. Thanks so much for the help. The wife gave me grief about buying the dutchoven to cook the chili in but I think once I make it she will see the light. Its pretty much been that way since I started experimenting.

RebelCause,[p]When I have leftover pulled pork in the freezer, I like to add a good handfull or two into the finished product and let it simmer for a bit. The pulled pork adds a nice smokiness to the overall base and the chunks themselves add a nice variety and texture to the chili. [p]Even better re-heating the next day.

I know this would not work for CASI but a interesting recipe.

I have never been exposed to a CASI event..though I sure would like to give it a shot...like BBQ, nothing close around here.[p]All my contests have been the local variety...TV and radio stations, community fund raisers, this last one was hosted by the local police and firefighters. Usually between 15-30 chili's entered.[p]As I mentioned, this would probably NOT do very well down south, but I could modify it and it would be interesting to see where it places.[p]Stogie

Casi is not eating chili either, but only lumpage (don't think it's a word) you can have in it is meat, some are very tasty but real hard on the stomach if you eat much.
Interesting recipe.
