early question on getting to Springs Chickens coop

early question on directions:
going south on hwy 290 at Cypress.
Google showing to go south to Jersey Village and take the Sam Houston to 45 (very near Leroys)....
BUT in Cypress it looks like it would be much quicker to just go east on Spring Cypress Road to very near 45.
It shows to be 14 miles closer that way but taking much more time. Is the cutoff in Cypress that bad a road?
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

    Hi Mickey,
    When we come from Austin on 290 we turn east at FM2920. It takes you through Tomball and over to I-45. Then, turn right and stay on the feeder road to Cypresswood/Holzwarth Drive intersection. Turn right and go straight into the subdivision. Turn right at the second stop sign (Teller Blvd.) and we are near the end of Teller on the left - 510 Moggy Court. Can't wait to see you again. Do you have room reservations or do you need one of the ones I am holding at La Quinta?
