Thanks for the vote of confidence. Wine is not really complicated; certain people want to make it so, and get paid well to mystify it. That's one(1) of the problems we have in the wine industry, and we are slowly but surely de-mystifing wine.

Hammer, I see no mention of German rieslings (my favorite whites) in this thread. The large stores used to carry numerous German labels, but now I see only a few. What has happened with riesling? I recently tried a New Zealand Omaka that was good, but not on a par (to my taste) with the German products.

You are absolutely correct on what you have said concerning wines from Germany, and there status in the market place.
I had fully intended to recommend a Gewurtztraminer, especially cinsidering the various spices that most folks use while cooking spiced poultry products. The Gewurtz. is a great product, and marries well to spicy food,Mexican, or Oriental.
The reislings are great products, whether you consume either a dry or fruity reisling. I particularly enjoy a late harvest reiling. The American consumer for the most part appears (in my opinion) to have lost its taste perference for [p]German Wines, after having satisfied their taste with Blue Nun, and were under the impression that all German Wines were fruity. Not true! German wines have some great off dry wines, and also some red wines. The consumer loves to experiment with wines from around the world, which were not readily available several years ago. This is great.
Now to your point about wines from New Zeland. Try a Chenin Blanc. They are great!

In the Yellow Tail brand, I believe that all they currently offer is a Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and a Shiraz.
There may be others, but I am not aware of them
