How much coke to warm up pulled pork?

I have seen a lot of comments about adding coke to pulled pork to warm it up. How much do you use and do you do it covered or uncovered in a dutch oven? I would think just enough to get the steam going to get it warm with some turning and stirring but on the other hand you don't want the pork to turn to mush.I cooked two eight pound shoulders Friday and froze half to have at a later date.

How to, Reheat Pulled Pork
BSinAZ,I happen to prefer the Coca-Cola method as I have had great success with that method - but first thing you need to know is the Coke DOES NOT flavor it nor change the taste! Why it works I'm not real sure but it eliminates that lousy warmed over taste IMHO and really works wonders on beef as well. Quantity wise I prefer one 12 oz can of real Coke, - no diet stuff, nor any flavored Coke either and NO!, pepsi will not work so please don't try to substitute. I find one can for two to four pounds of pulled pork is fine when done in a crock pot at low temp and stirred from time to time. Even warmed in a pan on the stove works but in that case stir often and keep it low! The real secret though is not to tell your guests - it's weird, but people wrinkle up their noses at the Coke idea since they think it will be sweet or something - but it isn't, nor is there even any color left, but if they don't know the secret all they do is applaud you for the wonderful pulled pork!

I use equal parts of coke and my favorite bbq sauce. 1 cup coke & 1 cup sauce mixed together to heat up left over pp or brisket.

I have used Coke to reheat my pork before and it works fine. Not sure how much, just enough to wet it before reheating. What I prefer to do, with larger amount of meat and time, is to steam it. We have a stove top steamer with two trays. I just put water in the bottom pot and heat it up to just below rolling boil. Put the meat in one of the trays and set it over the steam. Just turn the meat with a fork to make sure the steam penetrates all the meat. Sample a piece and when it's warm enough to your liking serve it up. I usually heat it in small enough batches that it's easy to handle. Meat is very moist and doesn't seem to lose any flavor. Of course I always have more sauce to go with it.
