. . . and I see that you really like your Mini. So, do tell--what all have you cooked on the Mini? I just bought one at Eggtoberfest and so far I've done two rounds of Italian sausages which turned out great. Ever done a personal pan sized pizza? If so, where did you find the pizza stone to fit the Mini? Thanks for your comments!!

TRex,[p]I've sung the praises of the mini quite a few times. I actually do about 80% of my cooking on it. Steaks for sure. Chicken pieces. Fish fits perfectly into a 9" foil cake pan. A small roast (sitting on a trivet inside one of those foil pans). Haven't done pizza yet, but I did find the stones! I use them for indirect cooking, for biscuits, dog biscuits, and whatever in the mini. [p]http://www.theposhpeddler.com/cat_pza_stones3.htm is one location for the 8" pizza stones. Old Stone Oven is the brand if you want to snoop yourself.[p]What is great on the mini is it uses a handful or two of charcoal, heats up VERY quick to damn hot (anything over 700 and I've had it to 1100 with no problem...course I lost all my eyebrows with no problem either). It's great for doing veggies when the main dish is on the big one.[p]I'll use it tonight for a lovely top sirloin. Kind of in red meat deprivation![p]Enjoy your mini. Heck, I'd have two! But I'm into excess.

    mollyshark,
While I love Miss Mini, my little lady does not come close your little pumpkin. May I ask what brand lump you're using??? I have noticed that some brands burn hotter then other's. I may get 500-600° but that's about it.[p]I have 3 egg's so do understand how they work.[p]Cheer's,

New Bob,[p]I've achieved over a thousand with BGE lump and Hasty Bake. Hasty does it quicker, but if I have the bottom trivet really cleaned out so none of the air vents are clogged, that baby BURNS. Way hotter than my large. We've had family evenings watching the thermometer go around and wondering where it will stop (we're easily amused).[p]Incidentally, just did the dollar bill test on my mini. Not only will it let a dollar bill slide through, it will nearly let an entire wallet go through. Time for a new felt gasket maybe? Ha.[p]mShark

mollyshark,[p]Thanks for the ideas and the website for the pizza stones! I did sausages again on Mini last night to throw into a batch of chili. Mmmm . . . it was good.
