More Fish - Nairagi
Austin Smoker
Posts: 1,467
As I continue to try to eat healthier, I am trying different fish in an effort to keep things different. This one is GREAT! It's called Nairagi. Saw it at my favrorite store next to the Big Eye Tuna and had to ask...."striped marlin" the man behind the counter says.."it's killer on the grill" he tempts me. Well, I had to go for that. Nice big filet:

Cut the big boy in two, added a little EVOO and a coat of Tsunami Spin:

On to the egg, normal height, low lump at 450:

Flipped after 4 minutes:

Another 4 minutes and plated it up with some Wild Rice:

Fantastic flavor, texture of any other "steak" fish (swordfish, tuna, etc). HIGHLY recommended!

Honestly I don't know. I got it at Central Market, which is a very nice grocery store here in Austin.

Cooked through like you would most fish (non-tuna). It retained a ton of moisture....
