Good morning Eggheads and those with no real mission in life.

Once again I was deep in dreamstate, this time frolicking around the hills and dells like there was no tomorrow. It was such an enjoyable period that I almost missed the plumbing alert. But then my automated reaction system kicked in and within the mini-time period of one atom hitting another atom I was in vertical mode rushing to the facility maintenance department with a clear objective in my gray matter. That being to select the proper porcelain furniture, firmly grab the pressure release leaver, pull said lever and let fly the over abundance of biofluid into the black hole of no return. Then observe the traditional auditory response indicating success... Ahaaaaaaaaa! (or translated into the preferred language of this planetary outpost, Ahaaaaaaaaa!).

But wait! My sensors are continuing to detect a serious threat to this solar system. To the Intergalactic Communications Center I ran as quickly as my forward motion transporters would permit. I bypassed the usual unreliable information sources and went straight to the Big Green Egg Forum where I could cut through the pink tape and immediately learn of any potential threats. It only took a small portion of a base time unit for me to spot a report by An Egg Downunder. He should know what the morrow brings because he is already there. He was already making final food intake plans, apparently resulting from information about a soon to be functioning atom collider hidden deep in the under-mountains of Outpost Switzerland.

My first reaction was "WHAT!!!" but then I quickly assumed my commanding presence with myself. By employing my highly tuned thought process, taking into account all available data, I was able to express a more appropriate reaction... "WHAT!!!"

Obviously, this is a matter to be investigated further so I shall inquire around, perhaps tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the refrigeration illuminator is functioning, That's a good thing considering a patch of disagreeable weather that is hinting of a visit to Outpost Texas, with the Chicken Ranch still in it's range of choice landfalls. Should the illuminator fail to function due to the threatening weather, the chilled contents of the refrigeration unit will need to be warmed and consumed or disposed of in a less than efficient manner.

A quick glance through the External Viewing Portal disclosed Rodney Dangerbird in a frenzy of activity. He was crowing orders as fast as he could produce them and the Ranch staff were reacting according to their ability, which appeared to be limited to standing in place. I inquired of Rodney as to his concern for such urgency and he responded with, "HAVEN'TYOUHEARD???THEWORLDISCOMINGTOANEND?????" Rodney tends to over react so I had to calm him down with a promise to look into the matter. Apparently, except for his misguided excitement, everything else was secure.

Finally, another review of the BGE Forum indicated that only a few additional Eggents were reporting in spite of there being a total of 11 Members and 44 Guests on board. Even Wolfman is away from his post. Inasmuch as there is limited chat-chit I see no reason to remain vertical and will therefore resume my mission to recharge.

Say goodnight Leroy.

  • Morning Ray. I tried to sleep but it just wouldn't work for me. I guess I'm a night person. Got way too much on my mind, some of it involving that annoying Hurricane Ike.

You're right, the projections are that Ike will go in somewhere between Galveston and Corpis Christi. But as you may recall, they first predicted anywhere from the Florida Panhandle to Louisiana. Then they kept moving it further and further west. Now it's moving back east. We really won't know for sure for a few days. Meanwhile, Texas is preparing for a major blow somewhere along the coast.

We're about 70 miles from the Gulf and over 100' in elevation so we should be okay, unless of course those pesky tornados crop up. Nothing to do but wait and see.

Coffee sounds good but I'm determned to re-enter dreamstate. In fact, I think I'll give it another try right now.

    See you on the 4th.

You're right Leroy and I can categorically state that the tomorrow I am now standing in is just the same as yesterday - no black holes, no exploding sun, just ordinariness all round.

I have to admit that I was not a true believer. When my wife rang an hour or so before Armageddon to say she would be home late, I popped the Wagyu steaks back in the freezer and retrieved some vintage lasagne.
