First Time Wings - YUM!

Only had my egg for a few months and have tried several of the recipes listed on here -- Butts, ribs, pizza - with great success. Thought I'd get some wings going on the egg early this afternoon to munch on while watching the games --- they turned out awesome!
Bought a family pack of wings from Publix and proceeded to cut the tips off and separate the drums. Dumped those into a steamer and let them steam for about 10 minutes or so (saw it on Good Eats and thought I'd try it out - supposed to promote crispier wings).
Had my egg stabilized at 250 and threw in some soaked chunks of mesquite for flavor. Set my plate setter in legs up to raise the grid and threw the wings on. Only seasoning I put on them was to sprinkle some Kosher Salt and ran the pepper grinder over them. Closed the lid and let it sit for about 40 min then cranked it up to 400 or so to get a bit of crisp on them.
Set a few aside to eat straight off the Egg and tossed the rest in some sauce. Both were awesome! Sauce really wasn't needed but added a little spice.
Definitely going to have to do the wings again!

Welcome to the dark side...I do wings just about every weekend between now and the first Sunday in February.
Yea, I'm a football fanatic. -
What is your number one way you do them?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

My favorite way is to lightly season them, cook indirect for about an hour at 375-400. I then toss them in a bowl with Anchor Bar wing sauce, then put them back on the grill for 10-15 minutes to set/thicken the sauce.
Simple, yet delicious. -
