Does the Small egg come with a screen mesh draft door?

Only the newer ones come with the screen insert. Mine is about three four years old and did not. The lower draft door is very loose but works fine with the retrofit screen insert sold by BGE.

I bought a new small egg last week and it has a screen. The small is a great little cooker. Cooked steal heat trout on it this evening, a steak yesterday evening, something most every evening. Most of my cooking is just for the spouse and myself; is great for only two or three people.

Chuck, I have a question for you.

On your new small, does the lower band have holes drilled into the sides to accomodate shelves? I suspect BGE will start supplying them like that soon if not already. Mine is about 3 monhts old and does not have them.
