Philadelphia - 100 Years Without a Championship

I am reminded that Philadelphia, my city, of which I am a die-hard fan, has not produced a champion since 1983. Because we have a representative in all 4 major sports, simple math tells me we have now suffered the equivalent of 100 sports years without a championship. Will something shake lose in the next 100 years?

hey, didn't your arena football team just win the league championship?. ..after the way redskins played last night, i don't think i'd be complaining too much. .. i'm already looking forward to hockey season and alex ovechkin here in washington!!!! . . .

yea, & I am pretty sure our lacrosse team won a few championships too (since 1983). Now if only more than 9 people followed these sports, they may have made for some great moments for the city

well, you know it all stems from the year the philly fans beat up santa clause!! .. .and i was watching a show about the redskins just last night where they were interviewing "chief Z", the very nice old black gent who dresses up with the indian head dress and used to actually be welecomed down in dallas where he would "go at it" with whistling ray down there, and he told the story how he went to philly one year for a skins/eagles game and after the game a couple of nice eagles fans jumped out of a van and beat him so badly he had one eyeball knocked out of a socket, a broken leg, and other injuries. . put him in the hospital for over a week. .. yep. ..sometimes, you get what you deserve . .. :woohoo:

Perhaps all true events, however, I don't know if the sports gods have condemned an entire city of real sports fans, which we no doubt are, for the sins of a few butbrains that would perpetrate a crime as such, however, I could be wrong :ermm:

Unfortunately, no. Marian Hossa went to the Red Wings and Ryan Malone and Gary Roberts both went to the Tampa Bay Lightning. All were large contributors in last year's run. :(

After enduring a LIFETIME (40+ years for me) of champion-less seasons in baseball and football, the change is nice up here in Boston.

Philly's time will come......enjoy when it does. We are enjoying sports nirvana (and Egg nirvana) here these days.

I keep on telling my young teen boys not to expect the same when they get older. They have no idea what it's like to suffer like we do.

Please.....No responses about cheating whatever.....I don't care :-)
