Mini Assembly

Order and just picked up a Mini from our local dealer. Took the 30lb box home and tried to assemble it. I have a Large and assembled it myself, that is to say I have some idea of what to expect. There were no Mini-specific directions for assembling the bands that connect top to bottom. Seemed simple enough, as I tightened the screw/nut fasteners, I wondered how tight to get them and knowing the Large like them to be very tight, I went to the tight side. Then, trying to do the dollar test, I notice the side with the scissor mechanism was very loose, so I wanted to loosen and realign. But something happened to the top nut/screw connection, I couldn't loosen it, must have gotten crooked when I tightened it. I got it loose enough to remove the bands but had to cut the screw/bolt to get it off, so I'll need to replace that. When I re-assemble, what should I expect? How tight do I tighten the screw/nut fasteners (obviously not to the Large specs)? Should I expect the top/bottom seal pass the dollar test? Any help/advise will be greatly appreciated.

bolts should be tight.. but mine did not bend. you should expect it to pass the dollar bill test.. aaind granpas grub bubba tim and wannabe clay q myself and others who i do not remember in my post holiday early morning haze have posted recently about mini issues and hopefully they will chime in . the bands on mine were rivited off sqaure and i re assembled many times over a one year period before i noticed it and replaced the band ,, bge is aware that quality control on the mini bands was lacking for a period of time. i hope the picture helps. there are other issues involving the mini as well. the draft door is often loose, the dmft does not seat and teh screw for the daisy wheel is too long . i have pics of all this stuff .. get your new bolt and start there...and keep posting till the other guys chime it. e-mail if you need a clearer expalination i am off today and we can talk of the phone if you wish.
