HA! Not what you thought.
It is just a humming bird, and unlike Spring Chicken I can't just snatch them out of the air with my bare hands (after which I think he eats them) but I do catch one every now and again with the camera.
The little buggers are quick...

Great pictures, I had one a week or so ago come up and land on my hat. Didn't get a picture of that though. Have a good Labor Day. Brett

How do you like your Nikon D80? From the looks of those pics it looks like you know what you're doing.
I think this year will be the year I get a digital SLR. I'm hoping Costco has the D90 for the holidays at a good price. -
Thanks! It is just like the others only cropped.

Thank you. The little buggers are tough subject to photograph. What ever happened to "smile for the camera?"

If you didn't get a picture, then I will have to take your word for it...

I usually post the hummers about this time of year. The first time I did, Spring Chicken replied with a photo of him holding a hummer in his hand.

Actually, according to some on this forum, they taste just like...well; Chicken

I love the D80. But one thing I have learned, it is not all about the camera. Granted, an SLR will give you much greater control than a point and shoot, but the best SLR are still only as good as the person taking the photo.
Bottom line; spend a bit on education (a couple of books and a good work shop or ten)then go for the equipment. -
Love that Firebush. Must be tasty! These guys are sure fun to watch!
Good weekend to you!
