John Henry\'s Pecan Rub
Rascal
Posts: 3,923
The label says that it works well on just about anything (this is my first time trying it) and I'm wondering if anyone has ever used it on beef. I'm always open to something new but I don't want to ruin a nice porterhouse steak. Any comments? Thanks!!~

I have only yet to use it on ribs, and it was very good. If memory serves, many on here use it on beef. Tell us how it turns out.

Personally,I wouldn't do it.Just salt and pepper for my steaks.Sometimes some Raising the Steaks.Maybe on another cut of beef, but not steak,at least not for me

It's a great rub and fantastic for beef, but I wouldn't use it on a steak. Salt, pepper and garlic powder is the way to go. Save the pecan rub for a brisket.

I hear ya! Just noticed that the first ingredient is sugar and I'm not sure that would be a good thing for beef.. Thank you!!

I think I'll protect my investment and try the pecan rub with chicken or fish.. The porterhouse was on sale at Pubix and I got one with a really nice loin attached!! 8 - )~~
