BGE Custom Rotisserie?
I've used straighten out coat hangers for browning a dozen marshmallows at once on the BGE for making smores, but I was wondering if anyone's used coat hanger or something similar for rotisserie cooking whole poultry or anything else.
The main issue would be the gaps between the dome and base created by the insertion of the rotisserie rod, which is negligible for a coat hanger with gasket that's in good shape, but would likely be significant for any metal rod capable of supporting a +10lb pair or chickens or whole turkey.
Anyway, post pictures if anyone's engineered a rotisserie setup for their BGE!

You are thinking WAYYYYYYYY Tooo much..
A rotisserie is used to help maintain the even heat around what you are cooking.. The nature of the egg negates the need for a Rotisserie..
Now cook and stop all this thinking! -
I need beer.
-
gwopy, you are thinking way outside of the box-not needed on the eggs. Now if you want something to think about how about putting the chicken on a stick and how to rotate the egg around the chicken. Mike

thinking. You don't seem to be fully equipped for the process.
And, you do need more beer. -

Love rottiserie chicken, although not really necessary w/BGE but curious how did u accomplish this?
-
I would just love to be able to have a rotisserie on my BGE ... may not need it, but that doesn't make it any less desireable way to BBQ ....
Plans?
Never eat anything passed through a window unless you're a seagull ... BGE Lg. -
I've also made a Rôtisserie. Three different versions are on YouTube.
Here is one of them ...

Wicked good looking! I have a cracked base that I was thinking of cutting with a water jet to about four inches and making a permenant thing with one of my larges. What kind of motor is that? Servo, stepper? Does the dome close completely?

Hi.
Motor is from an old photocopier - 24V =.
Yes, the lid can close completely. -
Sweet ... If I only had those fabrication skills ... way cool!
Perhaps someone will start to market one ... I'd be first in line!

Ghost Man How much do you charge in fabricating one of them for a large Egg? I am very interested in one!Cheers! Shawn My Blog: http://hrmcreativebbq.blogspot.com/ My Dads Custom Handles Blog http://dannyscarvings.blogspot.com

Hi.
Everything I do, is just for fun. And I do unfortunately just one of each. Therefore I have no fabrication I can sell from ..
But I've made a "poor man's rottiseri", which does not require a lot of tools to produce ..
The shaft that goes into the Kamado is a bicycle spokes. Any Rôtisserie motor can be used for the project ..
As Rôtisserie you can use any pre-purchased.
Watch the video and get inspirereret;-)
