New Hinge for small BGE available yet?

Has anyone seen or purchased the new SA hinge for the small eggs. I have to replace the felt gasket on my small because of a dumbassed mistake - forgot to close it down and it got way too HOT! As a result, the gasket tore badly when I pryed it open. If the new hinge is available, I thought I might as well replace it while I have the dome off the small.

No spring assist for the small yet. I called BGE in Atlanta not too long ago, and got put on a waiting list for them. The guy said they would contact me when it comes out. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.[p]~nikki

Thanks for the information - I think I will give them a call, too, and get on their waiting list. As long as this has been talked about, I wonder what the delay is in getting it out. I'm sure glad I went ahead and bought mine in August rather than waiting for the new hinge!

We were also going to wait until the new hinge came out, but the guy said it would be awhile, so we got our small last month. He said he has seen the prototype, so it is in the works. Hopefully we won't have to wait very much longer.[p]~nikki

Could someone give me the phone # so I can also get on the waiting list? Does the new hinge allow you to open the small egg more wide so it is easier to get food in and out? Thanks!![p]Dave

Steve-O,[p]My large has the spring assist. We bought a small last month and it has the old style hinge. I have to say I despise it. My first eggsperience was the spring hinge and now I am spoiled.[p]Can't wait for the spring hinge for small to finally get here.
