Well I finally got in contact with the source . I called BGE in Georgia direct ( because the 800 number doesn't work over the border ) and the gentleman on the phone assured me that it was O.K. to drill provided I had the right bit ( and was careful ) . Thanks to all who were worried about my egg .

Dave, if you need measurements to position the hole yell out. Some one will know or measure for you. Just don't try to drill thru the top. I tried that and there was a big hole all ready there :-) (I'm kidding!!!)

Dave,[p]If you drill your dome I would suggest you tape the inside of the dome to minimize breakout when the bit comes through on the inside.[p]spoof
