Tried a new method of lighting last night. The fire was starting kind of slow for some Steak au Poivre I wanted to do, so I took a starter cube from a box that I was given a few years ago when I bought my egg. I slipped it in through the ash removal/intake door and lit it under the charcoal grid. I was up to 500 degs. in a couple of minutes and it held after the cube burned out.
