'Bout time the season started! Doing some pizza - anyone tried the metal (ceramic coated) plate?[p]Have done many on a regular pizza stone. Ran across this in Linen & Things. First time used I realized that the smoke has to be mostly gone - this plate has holes all through it. Cooked great - no time waiting for stone to re-heat, etc.[p]LVM

LasVegasMac,[p]At the pizza joint where my hubby used to work when he was younger, they used pizza screens that were metal, but did not have holes cut into it, but instead were a fine metal mesh. They always worked well when we made pizza in our regular oven, and when we got our ceramic, they performed equally as well in it. We did use our pizza stone, as a ceramic mass, but just sat the pizza on the screen onto the stone. With the screen, no need for a peel either.
