my temperature gage is fifty degrees slow

    You can calibrate your thermometer by placing the tip in boiling water. Assuming you are anywhere near sea-level, water boils at 212 and you can then adjust your thermometer to read 212. There is a nut on the back of the dial portion that you can hold with a small wrench. Then turn the dial until it reads 212.[p]TNW
