EGGtoberfest
I have been reading the forum for about six months, every day, trying to justify an BGE. I currently have 3 BBQ's, a Webber dome, Brinkmann dual chamber and a electric smoker. I just keep drooling about a BGE. Up here in Michigan I have only seen one person, that I know, use a BGE. There is a dealer close to my home that sells them, but they haven't been a big seller. My son goes to Life University in Marrietta, Ga., of which I see alot of Eggers on the forum are from that area. I am looking at going to the Eggtoberfest and was wondering if it is a good thing to go to, to get an eggucation on cooking on the BGE. I sent an e-mail to the mothership to get info. from them on buying one of the units from the 'fest. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

I would go back to the dealer as fast as possible. Turn in to his driveway on two wheels to get an Egg. Oops, just realized you are a safetyman.
My advise - go get one, read the manual, watch the video, and ask any questions you may have on the forum. You will get a plethera of replies.
Wish I would have bought mine a long, long time ago. -

Hey safetyman,I agree with Frank. You can't go wrong with the egg.I never used my gasser again after getting the BGE.There's nothing wrong with having three grills
:woohoo: It's normal
You'll kick yourself for not getting one sooner

could you make it to chicago or minn. fests? atlanta is a long drive. buy your egg closer to home and fly to atlanta to visit the son and go to the egg fest. fests are a good idea. i thought about an egg for years, was unaware of the forum...my gasser died so i went to a local fest and and annoyed a competion cook all day .came home with an egg. have two now and a chimnea [don't own a gasser anymore] will get my third in september. i have a fancy $tainless $tove that i use to boil water. i do regret having waited.

Good morning Jim,
The tomato pie is in a 9" deep dish pizza stone from BGE.The bacon wrapped scallops are on a soap stone griddle and it really holds heat. fishlessman posted a picture and where you order the griddle about a year ago.

Just do it! Many of us waited a while and regret it. Also, dump the electric smoker.
YB, where did you steal that umbrella, the local McDonalds? I bet the Hamburgler is pi$$ed. -
Eggtoberfest is a great place to see the BGE in action. You will see all kinds of great food prepared and get to sample as well!
All the information you read on the forum can be experienced 1st hand.
Hope to see you there!
