Another beer can chicken

Did my second beer can chicken last night. First was almost 5 pounds and it was done in an hour(167 internal when pulled). This one was almost 7 pounds and it was done in 1 hr and 10 minutes(160 internal when pulled). Both cooked at 350 indirect. Kinda crazy it was so big and almost took the same time as the other bird. Turns out there was a nice layer of fat on the bigger bird. I mean Jabba the Hut fat. It added weight to the bird and gave em a nice crispy skin. Not to mention the tsunami of fluid when I cut into the skin. Just goes to show the wireless remot thermometer is a blessing when your 2 hour cook is done in an hour. Cheers.
