First of all, everything is as good as could be expected here. Ryan and April left this morning for Stromsburg; April's hometown, where the service will be held on Wednesday. Both of them are very strong, and are holding their own right now. We have been very busy the past couple of days just being busy. Cooked some wonderful pork ribeyes on the Egg last night...(didn't know they existed), and just generally kicked back.
I'm staying at the house taking care of their dogs and Ryan's calf until the morning of the service. I'll then go to the service and come back here to spend one more night with my daughter, Reagan and my two grandkids. As an added treat, my ex-wife will be here, too. But, it's OK. It should be a good time.
On my way home on Thursday, I hope to meet Carwash on Thursday for dinner. Something tells me that that will be my last stop for the night.
I can't even begin to tell you how greatful all of us are for the kind words, thoughts and prayers that this forum has generated.
OneShot and April are chomping at the bit to go again. I'm excited for them.
BTW, these farmers in Nebraska plant corn in places that I can't even climb. Talk about butt-pucker on a tractor! It's a beautiful state. I'm very impressed with the scenery and the people.
Many thanks to all.
Mike

Great! How about Cancun? Go ahead and shoot me your credit card number, and I'll let you know when my flight arrives. However, I really do need to be home by the 25th, as we leave on vacation the next day.
I really appreciate your taking care of me like this. Not that it matters, but is there BBQ down there?

I will. CWM will make sure of it. Thanks, Randy.

glad to hear things are going ok mike. .. hope the stress level is staying at a reasonable level. ..how is are the fishing/bonding/talking sessions down at the pond going??. .. .i'll be thinking about all of you on wednesday. .. sounds like you are doing a good job playing chef/homemaker for the kids as well .. keep up the good work. .. give em both a big hug from uncle max!! (and yourself a big one too - you deserve it!!)
-
Glad to hear things are going slightly better. We are still keeping all of you in our prayers and thoughts. Please relay how proud we are of Ryan and April. Thanks.

Morning after with Carwash! Thanks. Now I won't sleep tonight.
I really do appreciate your thoughts, Jay. -
Drove 60 miles for provisions this morning, did umpteen loads of laundry, built a shelter for Bugs; the bull calf, weed eated half of Nebraska, and generally worked my ass off with the three dogs. Pond is just about too mossy to fish, but had good times, regardless. Did I mention that I'm pooped?
Sorry I missed your call...can't imagine what I was doing. -
You'll never know how much you folks mean to all of us.
Thanks, My Friend. I think I'm fading.
Mike -
don't worry about talking to me. . .sounds like you are doing all the right things for all the right reasons. .. everything your doing is a chore that they don't have to worry about right now ... where i come from thats called performing a "mitzvah" (dats a good thing!!)
-
I'm sure glad you have a half-way level head about you 'cause this has got to have put some serious stress on you too. Everything seems to be under control so I won't worry so much anymore.
Take your time heading for home. Dad's can come in mighty handy after its all over.
