Smoker Dusts

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
I was at BBQS.com the other day and noticed that they sell an item called "Smoke Dust", the package says it's supposed to add "supple layers of smoke flavor" to your BBQ'd food. This stuff looks like wood powder (literally) and is used in small amounts with other woods. Myself, I think it's a bit of a scam because to me wood smoke is fairly strong so developing "supple" layers would seem very hard to accomplish... however, having said that AND never really trying it, I turn to you fine people to help me here. Has anyone actually tried this stuff, if so, does it work or is it all marketing?

Cheers
