default number of days in the main forum

it looks like the default is set at 3. i realize you can go in and change that to whatever other number, but it then just defaults back to 3.

is there any way this could be a feature that could be set by the user?

We'll look into it. It is computed based on several factors at present, but we'll look into adding a persistent user setting.

just noticed the default number of days for the feedback forum is 36. couldn't it be 36 for the main forum as well?????

That value is computed based upon the number of posts. Thirty-six days on the main forum is about 18,000 posts -- we cannot make the main index that big. It would take way to long to construct the page.
