Does anyone know if I have to remove the whole band assembly to install my eggmates on my XL?I have to put the bolts in the band,and don't want to remove everything to do it,as I plan on cooking on it shortly

I know for a fact on the large you have to install the bolts from the inside of the band; as I just took off a set. I assume this is the same for the XL.

Yea Tony,I understand where the bolts go :huh: I was wanting to know if I have to remove the whole band,or if I could simply loosen the bottom band enouph to get the bolts in

It think you could try it and if it doesn't work, you might have to take if apart.

I would only think that it would take maybe an hour to do either method.

Just loosen the lower band enough to get the bolts through from the inside.

You may have to completely remove the bolt from the bottom band to get enough slack in the band, but that's it.

It may not matter if you only loosen the bottom band but I would attach the hinge retainer (plastic -shipped with the egg) just to make sure the band doesn't want to open.

Thanks,but the plastic retainer is not needed for the XL

I got a tease of rain.

In fact, set up the umbrella over the EGG, as I am doing ribs today. Then, the storm came in.

ALL 5 DROPS OF IT!!!
