How long can I hold a butt in a cooler?

I know this has been discussed before but I can't find it. I'm taking a pork butt up to Maine tomorrow. It should come off the egg at about 9am and will be served for dinner at 6pm. Is this too long to keep it wrapped up in a cooler?
Thanks,
Paul

If it is wrapped in foil and a blanketor towel (in the cooler, you should be f=good for 4-5 hours.

If it were me. I'd heat up a few firebricks wrapped in foil. Put a layer of towels in the bottom then the bricks followed by the triple wrapped butts then as many towels as possible to fill the remaining space. Should get quite a few hours out of that set up.

In my testing, a single butt cooked to 200, wrapped in foil then towels and placed in a cooler will stay above 140 degrees just over 5 hours. After 8 hours, the internal temp was 125. You can read about it here: Holding Meat in a CoolerThe Naked Whiz -
Thanks for the suggestions and info. I will try firebricks in the cooler and then put the butt in a low oven for the last hour or two.
