i can see some avatars, but not all of them in the individual threads.

    I'm not sure what you mean. Not all of our members have avatars. Can you provide a link to a message that is not showing avatars you're sure should be there?

    The image in your "main" profile is not your avatar. The avatar image is a forum specific feature and is not fully integrated with the site profile. In order to upload an avatar image, click "my profile" at the top of this post, on the bottom of that screen you should see where you can select and upload your avatar image. This is on our "todo" list -- to better integrate the main site profile with the forum to eliminate this bit of confusion.
