My firebox, which has been cracked for over a year, simply disintegrated! Going to be a tough 4th without my Egg!

Sorry to hear. Curious, why didnt you replace it when it first broke? It should be under warranty.

My dealer will replace mine when I get around to taking it out. He said he stocks them & then works the warranty with the factory. If your current dealer is the one you bought from you should be able to swap unless he doesn't stock the parts. Good luck and if you were close I'd give you 1 of my larges for the holiday.

Problem was the 4'th without the egg.

Just pick up half a dozen thin firebricks. Use two to support the grate and the others to support the fire ring. It'll get you by for the Fourth.

mines in well over 9 pieces, i bet you can still prop up some pieces and get it to work, the trick is usually with the bottom pieces, i leave some ash behind the box for a little added support, even some tinfoil balls might help.

Ask your dealer to take one out of a floor model to give to you. He can replace his when it comes in from BGE... That's an example of the service a good dealer will give you.
