After the cook simply brush it with veggie oil and close lid and vents.
Is this acceptable to keep it seasoned/proper care?
What do u folks do?
Thanx

We clean our cast iron Jambalaya pots with a sponge and Kosher salt as an abrasive and rinse with water then heat it up a little to evaporate and water and brush lightly with bacon grease or veggie oil. Be careful not to leave too much bacon grease or veggie oil on it because it will turn ransid.

I do not do a thing to my cast grate, except take a steel brush to it right after the cook. Have not had any problems with rust or anything else.
