is it broke or something as its giving me a new look and way too much info. i just typed in bacon wrapped clam cakes which im sure im the only one to have ever made them and the search brought up 7500 and something posts to look thru, most of them had nothing to do with anything relevant. even just clam cakes brings up near 2000 posts of which non have anything to do with my lost post

    It hasn't changed, but it pretty much came broken given that we have 350000+ messages and counting. The admin for this forum is based upon the idea of deleting all messages older than 30 days (that's the default anyway). That's not the way we do things, so, the search feature is definitely not up to the task.

    It doesn't make sense to me that "bacon wrapped clam cakes" would bring up more results than just "clam cakes"; so, I guess there must be something else goofy about the search besides just not being designed for so many messages.

    We'll look into it as it is probably one of the biggest weaknesses we have at the moment. It may be that a site specific Google search will work better until we have time to improve/correct the forum search.
