What is the average cost I can expect to pay when building a cart of my own using Naked Whiz's plans? What type of wood? Do you stain or seal (Is that safe for food)? I realize there are variations, but just looking for an overall price range. Thanks for your help.

hello my favorite beverage and past time ,
I build tables for a local BGE rep and I usually spend around $100 for wood, deck screws, casters and sand paper. I've been getting pressure treated "yella wood" from Home Depot (grade 1 appearance) Seal or not, it's up to you.....don't put raw food on your table either way.
good luck!

I built mine for under $150, including the urethane finish.
Pressure treated lumber, 5/4 decking boards, minwax helmsman spar urethane - 3 coats.
I built it in a few hours. It's nothing special but it is very functional.

I heard that it usually costs around $200.00
I built mine for under that, including wheels, axle and bluestone paver under the Egg. Used Mahogany wood and finished it with Behr deck sealer.
this is an old photo, I've added stuff since then for storing the platesetter, raised grille and spider and the far end has a fold-up leaf to extend the top. And I added casters to the non-mobile end.
It's probably over 200 now, including bottle openers. -
I have a little over a $100 in mine. I used cedar on the tops and pressure treated 2x4. (I had all the hardware for the drawer) I used recessed furniture wheels from mcmastercarr.com I sealed it with Olympic sealer.

Hey Dude,
what're you using for a stone under the egg?
It looks a little thin, have you had it long? -
Anyone use Redwood or Cedar? How is it holding up? Personally, I don't like the look of PT lumber, so am looking for an alternative.

What Size EGG are you looking to make a table for?
