jalapeno's

hokie,
I had my first go at using jalapeno's last weekend. I tried the Atomic Turd receipe as found on this forum...
===================
I used 2 lbs of fresh jalapenos (about 30 count 2-3 inch), 2 8oz blocks of cream cheese, 2 packs bacon... and I pulled a 2 pound pork roast (hickory smoked) I prepared last night for this. I ended up using about 2/3 of it on the turds.
On the grill for about 30 minutes around 325-350deg. Also smoked the turds with a small amount of maple wood.
I used a raised grid since I have a tendancy to flame food on the lower grid LOL
These are just great! They will go over real well at the picnic this evening I am attending. Yumm!
============================[p]I forget who posted this, my apologies. Just so happened I had some PP in the freezer. They were good, but not hot enough for me.[p]I caught part of an Emrill live episode this morning - he was doing Hot Sauce. He said a common misconception about the jalapeno is that the heat is in the seed - it's not. Bam Man says the heat is in the white pulp. As in leave some in the pepper.[p]So, I asked the other half to pick up some more jalapeno's when she went out on her usual Saturday shopping trip. I'll be leaving some of the white stuff in this afternoon![p]Search the archives for the receipe(s). Good luck and I'll post later today or tomorrow on the outcome of the advice from Mr. Bam.[p]LVM [p]

LasVegasMac,
Wow! - I have it....it looks like it is the "Bible of the Egg". I can't wait to read it all, but at the moment I am tending to my Buffalo Terds and Spatchcock Chicken. [p]I just got my Big Green Egg a week ago and I am still figurine things out. Thanks!

LasVegasMac,
That would be my hubby Boccie that made the post you were refering to. He said they were a big hit at the picnic he took them to. He has also done them with ground meat in the middle, said those were very good too. [p]~nikki

hokie,[p]You're gonna LOVE this thing! I got my new toy about a month and a half ago, and there's not a weekend night that goes by (and now some of the weekday ones) that I don't cook on it! And the folks on the forum are the hidden perk that the salesman didn't tell you about, but you'll find out soon enough how they'll make all the difference in the world....[p]Food never tasted as good as it does from cooking with ceramics![p]:-)
