Heatproof countertop piece for cart

Hey Folks!
What are some recommendations for a flat heat proof topper for the top of my BGE compact cart? Looks like I have a 12" x 24" maximum space that can be covered up. A couple of ceramic tiles? Or maybe some space-age plastic material? I may or may not attach the material to the cart.

I have a large in a table and have granite on the right side and also on the bottom on the right hand side of the BGE about 15x24. can't meassure right now.

I got this piece of granite as a remnant from a home being built in the area. I spoke to the countertop people and they said it was not big enough for another job, so they finished the edges and gave me a great price ($50). Its about 24x36. I put anything and everything on it and it cleans up with ease!

I have a 6' long table for my Lg BGE. I bought three 12" granite tiles for my countertop. They look great, clean up easy and I can put anything on them.

Lots of places in town to call for that. Thanks

Smokey, that is exactly what i need for my egg barn. What's your addrress again?

Go to a granite countertop fabricator and ask them if they'll cut and polish the edge from a sink cutout. They usually throw them away and will probably let you have it for a song.

Yeah, but those are likely the 2-3 cm thick granite. That's pretty heavy-duty for an Egg table. I just bought a 2x2' (1 cm thick) tile for mine and let it set loose on my table:

I found a granite supplier down the road that had 3/4" thick remnants, he cutting and finishing a 12x24 (for top shelf) and a 12x22.5 piece (for bottom shelf) for under $50 total. So I'm good to go...
