Which cast iron for trex method

Dale
Posts: 41
Tried the trex steak method this weekend, worked great although I used a cast iron grate on the spider, rather than a skillet. I can not find a skillet that fits down on the spider on my LBGE, because of the handle. Is there a product out there that fits well for this?
I was thinking I could just just cut off the handle a Lodge skillet, if not.
Thanks,
Dale

As pointed out by Joe D Egger a couple of weeks back, might want to consider
http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_99354_-1______?rFlag=true&cFlag=1
The price looks right. -
If I were you I'd buy the XL. It fits the skillet perfectly. Don't even have to cut the handle off. See
Well you could see if there wasn't so much smoke in there. -
The answer to your question lies within:
http://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-7414-Reversible-Griddle/dp/B00062WTQ0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1214263775&sr=8-2
You will have to cut down the handles, but it is really good for the purpose you listed. And inexpensive. -
Mike, Which XL are you referring to?

I have a Lodge cast iron dutch oven that I use (without the lid)in my BGE...no handle to worry about and it is easier to remove than a regular skillet
