Guys,

tell me something... What is the best way to clean the cast iron egg cap? you know the black damper that goes on the top of the egg. I need to clean it but was not sure the best way to do it. I cooked some butts this weekend and it needs to be clean.

Put it in the cooker during a high temp cook/clean and all the gunk will burn off.

I've seen you posting lately. And last night I was watching TV or something...and a concert was advertising...and I then saw that Flo Rida was with the group. Are you a Rapper?

Your question was answered below when you first asked it.
  • yep, just put it inside after cooking and then put the ceramic rain cap on to shut down the egg.
