why does the forum display 800x600 pixel images at 620 pixels wide in most view combinations?

classic/wide view resizes to 620 pixels now and it didn't before.

    Rick's Tropical Delight,

Actually, it's always supposed to have done that, but it's been a bit inconsistent from one view type and template width to another. The new template is more consistent. We will, however, look into adding a feature into the template that will supply a preferred content width variable to the various components (i.e. the forum, recipes) that they can use as they see fit. The forum could use it to control the image size (i.e. wider modes could display wider images).
  • thanks for the response

why resize the dispay of 800 pixel images to 620 pixels? i can see displaying 1024 pixel images at 800, but 800 pixel images seem to display fine.

the majority of my images are 800 pixels wide and if the forum is going to display them at 620 pixels for all views, i won't be posting them on the forum.

I agree with Rick. Having photos automatically resized to 620x465 creates a problem for all the photos we've already cropped and resized to fit the former limit of 800x600.... and I have thousands that I've resized over the years for the egg forum.
Glad I caught this thread as I just spent a good bit of time this morning cropping and resizing a whole slew of 800x600 photos for Woosday.... don't want to post them to have them reduced and don't have time to do them all over again.... hope this snag can be worked out.
