Whole frozen chicken on the Egg?

In my wild bachelor days I remember the time when I had to cook a frozen turkey the next day.I took it out of the fridge and put it along the baseboard heater turning three or four times during the night. Then in the oven the next day.It came out ok.I was thinking of that today and wondered if anyone has put a frozen chicken in and for how long?

I suspect that your chicken would spend a large number of hours in a temperature range that is extremely favorable to the multiplication of microorganisms, already abundant in the frozen chicken. If you left it in long enough you would kill the gazzilions of new life forms, but their byproducts of all the eating they will be doing for all of those hours can't be good for you, and can't do anything good for the flavor or texture of the bird. Just my opinion.

It might be a good idea to alert your local Emergency Room for the arrival a patient tomorrow.
Not a good idea. -
Thanks guys.Have to scrap that one.How in the heck did I survive the turkey?

I have 2 whole chickens sitting in ice water in the fridge right now. takes about 3 hrs to defrost and they will be going on soon. Hope I'm not the next patient but have done this many time without a problem.

That'll do you no harm.

I know you just want to do me in guy.Yours is getting thawed out and I was talking of solid whole frozen chicken in the Egg.I changed my mind and going to have a couple of 1 1/2 inch bone in chops tonight. So there. Just kidding. Forgot to mention pineapple with rum and brown sugar with a IPA Ale or two on the side.Momma and daughter are out shopping so it's my turn know.
