Using MAPP gas in a WeedBurner

I have a weed burner that says that it can use either MAPP or propane. I have used propane to date but I was thinking that MAPP might make lighting the lump even easier. It costs % wise allot more but is less than $5 difference and given how long it last I'm think about trying it.
Has anyone tried it? Is there a big difference? Does it cause the lump to spark more during lighting?

the mapp burns hotter in the same size torch. my weed burner hooks up to a big propane tank, 20 pounds and higher, are you sure its a weedburner as they dont generally sell mapp tanks like that and i would assume the big tanks would have a different connector for safety reasonsfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Is your weed burner one of those small units with a normal tank and head on a "broom stick-like" handle for burning grass and weeds out of sidewalks? Several people such as fishlessman have those huge torch heads from Harbor Freight attached to a 20# propane tank. OTOH OttawaEgger had one until he caught the hedge on fire with a huge blast like a flame thrower!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

This is what I have. -
I have the same burner. I use MAPP with mine and there is no problem except that the MAPP costs more. I think the MAPP works better than the propane as it burns hotter and you don't have to stay at that one weed or grass clump as long to get it burning. Seems like you can cover more area in less time with MAPP. I'm happy with mine.

like this and then attached to a 20# tank.
