    Ike Witt,

I checked your profile and found that you had left the "l" off of sbcglobal. I corrected the problem and retriggered a confirmation email. That's the purpose of the email -- to be sure the supplied email address is valid.

    You have mail -- hopefully.
  • good morning,

no confirming e mail as of this am....checked spam folder also.

    thanks

    Allen,

Oops, after checking and rechecking, and rechecking, I noticed that you didn't actually leave the "l" out of "global", it must have been, "globla", which I dutifully changed to "globlal", adding a second "l". I've corrected it again, and now, hopefully, you will receive the new confirmation email to the corrected address.

You have mail -- hopefully (again).
  • Hi wm,

looks like the email address is still incorrect.
    here is the correct one

    allencollins1@sbcglobal.net

the last word giving us the problem is GLOBAL

    thanks for the help

    allen,

Nope, this time the email address is as you entered above; and, I just sent out another confirmation email to that address. We have over 100 users on sbcglobal.net, and, quite a few of them have confirmed; so, we don't appear to have a problem getting email through to your ISP's mail servers. I'm not sure what the problem might be unless our emails are being trashed as spam before they even reach your email client. Please check your spam folder; and, also you might see about adding eggheadforum.com to your "whitelist".
  • Hi again WMK,

still no luck....nothing in spam folder.

I had raquel at BGE send me a test email which came through while i was still on the phone with her...i asked her to fwd to you. also tried to add eggheadforum.com to my contact list....but they need a syntax or name ie: wmk at eggheadforum dot com. please feel free to call if you can think of anything else
I really need the forums help

    thanks

    allen,

Send an email to me at "public at millerhouse dot com" and I'll see if I can figure out why our emails aren't getting through. You can use "registrations at eggheadforum dot com" for your contact list (of course, replace the "at" with @ and the "dot" with "." first).
  • Hi WMK,

ok...sent the e mail to millerhouse and added registrations@eggheadforum.com....man..i hate being a pain in the ass....but i appreciate your patience and hard work...\

    thanks...allen

    allen,

I got your email; and, I've asked our server support folks to look into any reason they can find why you might not be receiving our emails. Since I corrected your address, our logs indicate that your mail server accepted them for delivery, but nonetheless, you are not receiving them. I think the problem is on your end, but I'm not sure about that; so, I'll continue to research the issue. We'd like to be able to confirm that our server can reach your email address for things like getting your password reset and such. Also, so you can receive emails from other members sent indirectly via the site (so nobody actually sees your email address unless you want them to have it), etc.
  • Hi WM,

Here is an idea that worked in the past for me.....

I am sure i gave the wrong email address to begin with.

That said.....would it be possible to go into your system and delete all of my info......handle, username,email...etc....when that is complete...let me know...and i will try to re register.

Or i can try to register again with a different handle....if that works...we could delete...and go back with the Ike Witt handle...

    have a nice weekend...and thanks

    allen,

I've corrected the email address; and, I'm sure it's right now.
I'll try to forward from my personal address, and, that may get you going; but, if the server cannot get an email through to your email address, then you may have other problems in the future.
