Photo issues

1st: Thanks for the help on Avatars (I have one now).

Sometimes when viewing a forum post, I don't see the photos (just the "img" code) when others obviously can. If I choose "reply", then I can see the photos in the thread below the message composition box. I've tried all of the "view" options (threaded, classic, flat) and it's the same. I'm suspecting it has something to do with the size of the uploaded images, as I've had a similar problem with some of my own posts and have gone back and edited to smaller sizes (using photobucket's "message board" option) to cure it. Any thoughts?

There are some issues with "wide view" and viewing posts. Some have said they have more luck viewing posts in "narrow view". You can get to narrow view from the home page "Forum -> Eggheadforum" menu item.

The new template we are preparing to deploy eliminates the separate views while retaining the ability to collapse the left and right side modules. It also provides a consistent menu no matter what your view options you've selected. It should improve the photo viewing experience significantly.

You don't have to wait, you can check out the new template now on greeneggers.net. If you go to the post you're trying to view, and then edit the url in the browser address window replacing "eggheadforum.com" with "greeneggers.net" you can see if it will work better over there. If it doesn't we need to know so we can look into the problem.

What post are you trying to view?

I can view the photos on this post just fine in greeneggers.net. I'm a convert.

in flat view. Can in other views.

You're right -- I see the same behavior -- that's some kind of bug in the flat view code I suppose. We'll take a look once we get the new template deployed at eggheadforum.com; and, I'm also working to finish the "application" that permits our members from outside the country to get in w/out having to reconfirm their email address every time they turn around. Like so many things, it's a bit more of a pain than I anticipated.

Doesn't work for me either - bummer - the pictures are a large part of the draw for me to this site.
