Hi,

Saw some earlier posts on method for Scallops but no ref to temp or length of cook.

Was thinking to use bacon but may just use butter some spices.

In any case does anyone have an idea of temp and length of cook. I got some large scallops (about 1.75" diameter & about 1 in thick)...

Appreciate any feedback.

s should help. I like to use Kikkoman Marinade on scallops and shrimp.

    Scallops, Bacon, Wrapped, Wise One

A simple seafood appetizer for those who like scallops.

    Ingredients:
1 lb Sea Scallops (should be around 24)
1 lb Lean bacon (your favorite style)
    Favorite rub (BGE or other)
    1/2 cup Lemon Juice
    1/2 cup Maple Syrup
24 Toothpicks (soaked in water for at least 30 minutes)

    Preparation Directions:
1 Take a piece of bacon and wrap around each scallop. It may wrap twice but that's OK.
2 Secure the bacon with a toothpick.
3 Sprinkle the exposed ends of the scallops with the rub.
4 Place all the scallops into a container so that they are touching.
5 Mix the lemon juice and maple syrup and pour over the scallops.
6 Cover and place in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
    Cooking Directions:
1 Place the scallops onto a seafood grill (or use a sheet of aluminum foil with holes punched into it over a regular grill) over a drip pan.
    2 Cook for 30 minutes at 375.
    Special Instructions:
1 Serve with your favorite cocktail sauce.

    Wow !!! 30 minutes at 375? I'd be thinking 5 - 7 minutes.... Some suggest an internal temp of 145, but I'd go for 120 - 125. 30 minutes, or 145 and you're gonna have rubber. 120 you'll have tender morsels :)

Thanks for pointing that out.Must have been a typo when I copied it. 5-7 minutes would be my thoughts also.
