Pizza Stone

Late last week I posted a question asking if I can use the 14 inch BGE Pizza Stone on my Medium BGE. I know the 12 inch is supposed to be for the Medium EGG. However, my son had given me the larger one as a gift and I followed some good forum advice and gave it a try. Boy am I glad I did. The 14 inch is great on the Medium BGE. When in place atop the plate setter, the larger stone leaves about 1 1/4 inch clearance all around. Turned out to be plenty of air flow. I let temp climb a bit to see if it would heat properly with the larger stone in place and my Medium climbed right to 700 with no hesitation. I started closing things down at that point since I wanted to do the pizza at about 500 - 550. Don't hesitate to buy the 14 inch pizza stone from BGE for you Mediums. How were the pies? well, that's another story, but I did better with them than I expected, so on my way.

Gandolf,
That's 1 and 1/4 inch clearance. Didn't look right when message posted.
