WMK:
In the past month two threads which I started were deleted from the forum without explanation. The most recent thread was ID 460329 started on 6/12/2008.
In both cases I was not notified of the threads being deleted and there was no information posted on the forum. After the first occurrence a few weeks ago I sent a long pirvate message to you via the forum which received no reply whatsoever.
So I am wondering why both threads were deleted, especially the most recent thread which did not violate the forum rules. And I am wondering why someone would delete threads without posting an explanation on the forum or at least sending the initial author a private note. And why haven't you responded to my private message?
Am I missing something here? If I am doing something wrong then I wish someone would just tell me what it is so that I could avoid it in the future. Most other forums will close or lock a thread if it becomes problematic, posting a short note explaining why or at least contacting the author via a PM to explain. Most other forums also have a link to contact the admin via email or PM. I couldn't find any other way to contact you on this forum and I did not want to use your personal information which I found via other channels so I am posting a note here in hopes that you will respond. I can be reached via PM and would appreciate the opportunity to find out what is going on behind the scenes.
Thank you.

i think that WMK's profile is a 'test' one. clicking the "send email" function in his profile just sends it off into the ether. least that's what i think.
i think that it would be a very good thing for that to either be made clear, or to have a real email address associated with his profile. anyone clicking on his profile to send an email would be forgiven for thinking it was a real profile, and that the email function worked. if you tried to send it that way (logically!), i think it may never have gotten to him in the first place

Yes, I did notice the test comments in his profile. I also found an email address for him (public@millerhouse.com) and sent my notes to that as well. No response to date.

WileECoyote,
I am not responsible in either case for deleting your post; and, I never even saw either one of them. BGE corporate sometimes, for reasons of their own, does this.
I did learn that the first one made mention of a price for an Egg online, and, you can read their Internet policy which should answer any questions about why they wanted that post removed.
As to the post from yesterday, I don't know -- I never saw it. I've forwarded a link to this thread and the email you sent to me along (as I did the first one) to BGE; so, you may get more information from them, but maybe not. They certainly reserve the right to remove posts at their discretion for any reason w/out explanation if they wish. -
stike,
I'll check the email address -- it should be valid -- I did receive WileECoyote's email(s). -
Thanks for the response WMK.
Are there any others that can delete posts besides you and the BGE corporate employees?
I only ask because I have been communicating with a BGE rep for several weeks about the thread which was recently deleted (egg base article) and I followed their recommendations so I would be surprised if they deleted it. I sent a note to my contact to find out if they know anything. Maybe they have their wires crossed or it is two different people.
Regarding the thread about the online dealer: I understand BGE's Internet policy but it doesn't state that they condemn or prohibit online sales, only that they will not warranty the online purchases. Also, many other threads mention online purchasing and those have been allowed to remain on the forum so it is still unclear to me why my threads were deleted.
I realize now that you were not involved in the censorship. I just wish BGE would notify the forum users in some way when they choose to censor or delete a thread. -
WileECoyote,
At the moment, I have a "silent partner" who does the deletions at the request of BGE, or, sometimes when they're sure BGE will request it soon enough. BGE has, however, requested the ability to do this directly in cases where they cannot contact my partner (or me in rare cases).
As soon as I finish updating our out-of-country access request process (today I'm hoping), I'll be setting them up to do that; so, they will very soon be removing messages at their discretion w/out me or my partner being aware of it.
I wish they would notify ya'll too if they're going to delete stuff so "quickly". My partner usually will not delete something like that until it scrolls off the main index (a couple of days). When they are deleted immediately, it always creates "issues".
I cannot say for sure, but I think it likely that they want posts about Internet prices and/or sales deleted because things that appear on this forum may seem as if they are sanctioned by BGE; and, since they don't recommend purchasing an Egg online, they don't want stuff like that posted here. Further, since their dealers set their own prices, they don't advertise prices either, for online sales or otherwise. So, posts with dollar amounts have two strikes against them -- again I'm only speculating. -
weird. remember that error i was getting when sending an email via the "send email" function ? i sent one to yours and got the "error" again. ...so i figured it was a temporary/phony one.
sorry boss!ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante -
stike,
The email address is valid. I'm not sure why your would be getting an error sending to it. If it happens again, please forward the error email to public at millerhouse dot com and I'll see if I can determine why.
