just out of curiosity, why is it that the # of posts from the old forum did not transfer for
me to the new forum. did i register improperly? not a big deal really but i have been at this for over a year now so i shouldn`t be a newbie egger. also are there instructions on
how to use the the tools above and to the left like the emoticons. i can`t seem to figure it
out. annnddd finally do photos post differently now then they do from the old forum. i
used photobucket on the old forum and pictures would post by copy and paste but now
it seems like i can only get a link for the pictures to post within the body of the post.

    mr.b,

If you had posts on the old forum, the you should "activate" your profile from the old forum here on the new one. The handle should be the same as your original one. If, on the other hand, you create a new profile here, then there's no way to keep your post count from the old forum.

I'm not sure what you mean about the emoticons. The ones to left, you just click on to insert in a message. The ones above, are "topic" icons, currently they do not show up in "classic" view, but we'll probably add them soon. Are these the icons to which you are referring?

Yes, photos do post differently here than on the old forum, but it's easy to manage. Photobucket supplies "raw html" image links, which worked on the old forum, but for security reasons, the new forum allows only "bb code". Photobucket supplies these also. You just need to select a different link type from the list of choices (last I looked it was the last one, but other members that post pictures regularly can probably provide more detailed information -- you should look for [ img ]...[ /img ] style links instead of the old ... ones).
