Pregnant Wives and the Egg

I've noticed a WONDERFUL thing going on with my wife (who is about 5 months pregnant with our first baby) and my Egg! I've had my Egg for a little over a year now and have produced many a good meals on it. In the past prior to pregnancy, she mainly requested chicken or fish when I'd cook on the egg. Steaks, sausages, and even pork chops were a pretty rare occurence. [p]Lately it's been a completely different story! She can't get enough of hamburgers, steaks, pork chops, and sausages. I cook almost every night on the Egg, and the nights I don't, we are using the leftovers from egging the night before! I'm in HEAVEN! [p]I don't know what the connection is between being pregnant and this new desire for treats from the Egg, but I'm loving it![p]Dan.

    Dan.,
Its obvious... Your wife is now eating for two and the second one has special tastes of his/her own. This is probably the first known case of someone preparing a person for the good life BEFORE the are even born.[p]Congratulations.[p]Spring Chicken

Dan:[p]Half or quarter some whole dill pickles long ways and grill them for her. Let me know what she thinks.

  • Spring Chicken,[p]Several months ago we adopted a newborn in southern IL and each time we met with the birthmother before the birth I bbq'ed pork shoulders for pulled pork for the birthmother. Hopefully our little Isabella now has a taste for GOOD food.[p]hmmmmmmmmm, I wonder how hickory smoked strained peas would taste!? ;-)[p]lns

    djm5x9,
Do not forget a side of ice cream and chocolate sauce for dipping.

R&J:[p]Thank goodness I missed all the wild food combinations and late night requests when The Princess was pregnant. I know you think I am teasing, but I like grilled pickles. They are also great battered and fried, assuming you like pickles to begin with.[p]

New Bob:[p]Cook just like you would vegetables. I do mine somewhere between 300º and 350º - depending on what else is cooking at the time. You may not want to keep them on as long as fresh vegetables because they are cooked during the canning process and may be come too soft. If you are not a pickle nut you may not appreciate them.[p]If you fry them add some of your favorite rub to the flour.

    lo n' slo,
Go for it. There's gotta be a market out there. And just think how many BGE's will be sold twenty years from now to sons and daughters of parents who thought enough to give their babies the very best strained peas in the land.[p]Spring Chicken
